Alberto Giuliani è nato in Italia nel 1975. Inizia a fotografare nel 1987 e nel 1993 inizia a lavorare come fotografo professionista. Dal 1995 al 2009 viene rappresentato dall'agenzia Grazia Neri. Le sue immagini nascono dalla passione per il racconto e talvolta le sue storie diventano anche racconti scritti o articoli giornalistici. Con le sue immagini ha raccontato i grandi eventi del nostro tempo. Dalla diaspora del popolo Tibetano alla guerra in Afghanistan, dalla crisi economica in Argentina alle sterilizzazioni forzate in Perù. Nel 2003 pubblica NEXTONOTHING (ed. Logos Italy). Un viaggio profondo ed emozionante attraverso la desolazione dei luoghi e delle loro genti. Ma le sue immagini non sono solo fotogiornalismo. Nello stesso anno, assieme al musicista Cesare Picco e all'attore Gioele Dix porta in scena uno spettacolo teatrale dal titolo Viaggio a Samarcanda, che debutta al Teatro Piccolo - Milano. Una suite per immagini, musica e voce che accompagna lo spettatore alle radici dell'Islam. E dello stesso anno è il lavoro realizzato per Pirelli "P0 Photo" (catalogo ed. Motta) esposto al Palazzo della Permanente di Milano.
Dal 2001 al 2006 lavora ad un progetto sull'Argentina intitolato CRY FOR ME. Benchè ancora in progress per i forti legami che lo uniscono a questa terra, il suo lavoro sull'Argentina è stato pubblicato su molte riviste italiane ed estere ed è stato esposto alla galleria Cedro26 di Roma durante il Festival della Fotografia 2007.
Nel 2008 Nextonothing diventa uno spettacolo teatrale che debutta al Festival di Ravello.
Dal gennaio del 2007 Giuliani concentra i suoi lavori su tematiche legate alle mafie del nostro Paese, raccolti in un progetto chiamato "Married to the Mob". Questo lavoro, tuttora in pieno svolgimento, è stato finalista al W. Eugene Smith 2008 e gli è valso il premio alla memoria di G. Siani, dell'Ordine dei Giornalisti Campano, con il riconoscimento della Presidenza della Repubblica Italiana. Nel 2009 vince il premio Leica per il reportage e il suo nome è tra i 190 talenti Italiani nel mondo del libro Young Blood 2008. Una parte del lavoro, dedicata a ‘Ndrangheta e narcotraffico è stato esposto al TOPS China 2008 (Shangyen, China). Nella realizzazione di questo lavoro Giuliani collabora con vari giornalisti di riconosciuta fama quali Roberto Saviano, Pino Corrias, Francesco La Licata. Con Roberto Saviano ha realizzato uno spettacolo dal titolo "L'Italia che ci riguarda", presentato in anteprima alla chiusura del Festival delle Letterature di Roma 2009, e che ha per filo conduttore il percorso fotografico di Giuliani. I suoi lavori hanno ricevuto altri riconoscimenti tra i quali il Canon e l'Agfa. Nel 2005 viene selezionato per il J.S.Masterclass del World Press Photo. Nel dicembre 2008 pubblica, per Amnesty International, il libro Cina Tibet (EGA editore), nella collana "un fotografo per i diritti umani".

Alberto Giuliani was born in Italy in 1975. He began taking pictures in 1987. In 1993 he started working full-time as a professional photojournalist. He has been represented by Grazia Neri photo-agency from 1995 to 2009. His images spring from his passion for storytelling and sometimes those stories becomes also written stories and journalistic articles. With its pictures he has documented big events of our times. From the diaspora of the Tibetan people to the Afghan war, from the economical crisis in Argentina to the forced sterilization in Perù. But its pictures are not only photojournalism. Together with the musician Cesare Picco, Alberto Giuliani staged a theatrical performance about Islam, called "Viaggio a Samarcanda" (On the way to Samarkand). This suite for music, pictures and voice had a big tour in Italy and the visual part realized by Giuliani was made by still pictures and video images. In 2003, he realized the "P0 Photo" photographs for Pirelli, exhibited at the Palazzo della Permanente in Milan (book published by Motta). In September 2004 he published his book titled NEXTONOTHING, published by Logos Italy. Nextonothing is a long, personal and emotional trip through desolated lends and peoples. In 2008 NEXTONOTHING also became a theatre-show, (debut at the Ravello Festival-Italy). Since 2001 he works on a personal project about Argentina named CRY FOR ME. It has been exposed in Rome for the Festival della Fotografia 2007 in the Cedro26 Gallery. Since 2007 he is also working on a project named MARRIED TO THE MOB – on the Italian mafias. On this work he is collaborating with some of the most well-known Italian journalists, like Roberto Saviano, Pino Corrias, Francesco La Licata. With Roberto Saviano he performed a show on June 2009, named "L'Italia che ci riguarda" where Roberto Saviano were narrating mafia's stories on the Alberto's pictures. In 2009 he won the LEICA AWARD for photojournalism and his name is included in the list of the 190 Italian talents in the world of the book Young Blood 2008. Part of his work on mafias has been exposed at the 2008 TOPS China festival in Shangyen (China). Alberto Giuliani's works have won several awards, amongst which: CANON (2000) and AGFA (2003), Joop Swart Masterclass of WORLD PRESS PHOTO (2005). He won the Siani Award for journalism in 2008, with the high acknowledgment of the Italian Republic Precidency, and it has been selected as finalist in the E. Smith Grant 2008.
